It's back!

Blurty, that is. Which means I'm back to post there. Because, let's face it, I've been blogging there for over a decade - that's thousands of posts I'd rather not abandon just because it had a glitch, prolonged though it was. But never say never. Who knows when the next blue moon will come round and I might start posting here once more? In the meantime, apologies if my stalkage dries up, but I'll try to pop in now and again...

Still no energy to do anything useful at weekends. Bar research, which has been going very well. The fact that it has been mainly to do with restaurants has nothing to do with it. *cough* Mind you, when the wind is howling around outside, one really does not feel motivated to go out. (And we're nowhere near the coast. Feeling very sorry for those poor buggers who are getting the brunt of this.)

H did go out last night to play in a concert with Trinity Band. He had to negotiate through some flooding to do it, but it went well. I stayed in and watched Star Wars eps IV-VI, myself...

Actually got a little Kraków research done this week. Plus some photoshoot scan cleanage and a bit more Polish (countries this week, and only 24, although the hardest part was remembering which flags belonged to which country. *blush*). Also contributed a bit to Doug Jones's Kickstarter project, Kiss The Devil In The Dark. All in all, a small but pleasing set of achievements.

Summer Glau is signed up for LFCC! Excellent.

Have decided to push my next sesh with Helen TRMT back to end April, though, as while I'm working on building up the wasted bits again, it's going to take a bit longer than February.

Current word count: 160/1,000.

It really annoys me when I want to do stuff but just sit on my backside instead. OK, we went for a quick walk on Saturday in between all the slobbing, but it was a lovely sunny day on Sunday and we really should have gone out for the day, even if just for another walk, but we had no energy whatsoever and the cold put us off. We had a lovely roast chicken dinner, though. To complement our lovely cooked English brekky. *cough* And watched Alien3, Thor and X-Men: First Class pretty much back-to-back. But then came that horrible Sunday evening feeling, when you know you've got to get up early the next day...

Today hasn't been too bad bar the annoyance of waking up at 5am and knowing the chances of going back to sleep before the alarm goes off at 6:20am are practically nil (as was the case, unfortunately). But I have lots to do tomorrow, so that should keep me reasonably alert, I hope.

So, woss' goin' on?

Had a very nice geeky weekend with Callie Helen. We finished S1 of Sanctuary (and started S2), as well as watching some of Grimm S2 (a rewatch for me). Discovered the existence of rhubarb liqueur at Waitrose, which, with the addition of lemonade, helped stretch my two-bottle Wine limit into some very nice cocktails. I also watched a tiny bit of Krull, only to see Ken Marshall announced for LFCC the very next morning. Whee! Of course I'd like to get a photo of him as Eddington from DS9 as well, but Colwyn is my favourite of his characters, so if I must choose, I'll go for that first.

Managed to keep the weight reasonably under control, considering we had scones with cream on Saturday and a splendid pork roast on the Sunday - some of which was mitigated by nice long walks - 2lb gain. Far and away my best Monday weight YTD, so unless I have an unexpected blowout, I should hit my end-Jan target OK (having managed it already on Saturday).

Our combination microwave oven (which lost the grill function a while back) has now karked it on the microwave front as well. We have therefore ordered another one. *sigh*

Hello! Been a while, what. Unfortunately Blurty (the site that houses my main blog) has gone kablooey and the issue that prevents me from posting there also prevents me from logging a query. Ooops. So for the time being, I am going to post in here and see what happens. Of course if you haven't been reading my Blurty you'll have no idea what I'm talking about in some cases, but just think of it as me being cryptic and mysterious or something. *cough*

A couple of things for anyone who's interested:

1) If (like me) you've been trying to find out the name of the song playing during the Execution scene in the Supernatural ep "Criss Angel Is A Douchebag", I have just discovered that it was actually created for the show by Christopher Lennertz and co-written by Steve Frangadakis (who also did the singing and guitar). It's called "Douchebag Theme", heh. Someone else had asked about the origins of the song on Yahoo! and Steve answered it - he's posted clips from the ep on his website (link below) and said he'd put the final version up when he gets it (one hopes this will be soon).

2) Greg Grunberg has signed up for Eclipse 3 in the UK. Yay! Spread the good word!

I have come to the conclusion that I am stretched too thin. I have so many blogs to stalk, eps to watch and other distracting shite that I am neglecting my RL stuff. OK, some of that is boring stuff like housework, but there are other things too, and these things have got to be done. There are not enough bleedin' hours in the day. So, what does that mean? Well, I'm stopping the reviews, for starters. They were crap anyway. Although I would like to say a massive thank you to those of you who were kind enough to comment on them every once in a while - those comments gave me lots of warm fuzzies and I appreciate them muchly. That was fun.

As a result - if I do post here, it'll be once in a blue moon. I'm also going to scale down my friends list. This sounds a bit funny considering I only have a small list compared to some of you guys, but it's all relative. Really. So if I cut you out, it's nothing personal whatsoever, and to be honest, you weren't getting much out of me, right? But I've got to cut down.

For those of you who are also on my blurty, there won't be any reviews there either, but the regularly-scheduled drivel will continue unabated. Rock on!

Had a nice birthday weekend. Ate lots of food (this time paying attention to sell-by dates), drank Wine, got some lovely cards (the best of which was from my other half, natch, along with some beautiful flowers) and generally didn't do a lot, bar a quick visit to the parents to say hi. Pity it's almost over. C'est la vie!

Almost forgot to write about the main Tee Vee offering, though, so here it is.

Non-spoilery review: Oh, so delightfully screwed up!

And now the main review. (Yeah, I'm bored of the whole point review style now.)

WANT MOAR. But need bed now.
cosmicavatar: (NPH - Okay Awesome)
February is not off to a good start. I have been in bed/the bathroom/on the sofa for the last two days with a stomach bug. I guess it wasn't the ancient soya spread I tried at the weekend, then. [suspicious voice] Or maybe it was... Either way, ow. Much discomfort. Guess I got a bit too enthusiastic about blotting out the horribleness that has been January.

On the positive side, I has Tee Vee. Which I should not be watching with a splitting headache, but that's addiction for you.

The non-spoilery review: Interesting progress. In many ways!

In other news, I have just made myself a variation on poutine (using mozzarella as I can't get cheese curds around here) for the first time ever and it is yummy. Although making myself a salted lassi beforehand, also for the first time ever, may not have been a good idea in retrospect as the cumin has decided to repeat on me. Ooops.
cosmicavatar: (Dean Winchester)
Non-spoilery review: Well-paced but strangely unfulfilling.

And now the 5-Thought Review.

Well, I haven't updated here for a while. So, what have I been doing? Well, until recently, my life was revolving around dieting off the Christmas weight and exercising and mucking about with my new Wii (lightsabres! Baseball! Cow racing!), which was all going excellently. But in the last few days all I have been is Ill. Stupid horrible chest cold which is still hanging around in the form of a racking cough! Something always happens to derail my weight-loss plans. If I didn't know better, I'd say there's a bunch of Fates up there thinking, "What shall we do to screw her efforts up this time? Ahhh, the old favourite.... GERMS!" Bastards. *gnashes teeth*

Anyway, on a happier note, I finally have some new Tee Vee to review. Sweet!

The non-spoilery review: Awwwwwwwww!

And now the 5-Thought Review.
